People believe that if descendants use joss paper to honor the deceased, the departed will become wealthy in the afterlife. However, I find the design of traditional joss paper to be somewhat monotonous and slow to evolve. Thus, I designed a series of new joss paper, incorporating speculative design and more optimistic color schemes. I hope my designs can encourage a positive attitude towards death among my audience. I gained an insight into each person's own appearance anxieties, as well as their perceptions of the beauty standards of women on Chinese social media. I extracted information from my conversations with them, and present some of the information in my photography.
